Francesco Maria Bandini
Vita
Born in Rome, Italy – March 8th, 1965 Francesco Maria Bandini- designer and architect – began his career as a fashion designer in his mother’s haute couture atelier Alba Armillei in Rome while still a University student. During this time, several of his original creations were acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York City) and the Haags Gemeentemuseum (The Hague) for their permanent costume collections. In 1996 he relocated to Milan and launched the B3 Designstudio, shifting the focus of his work to product and brand design, retail, art direction and style. The design studio today simply goes by his name, Francesco Maria Bandini. Throughout his career as a designer, Francesco Maria Bandini has pursued parallel artistic interests and talents, including the creation of an installation for Milan’s Triennale. A recurring theme in his work is emotional engagement, providing a greater level of user experience and captivation. Emotions play a central role in understanding ourselves and the world, and the ability to both represent and elicit emotions is the focus of Francesco Maria Bandini’s recent production, the series called Emotional Barriers.
